PostSubject: To all old and new members here: The Importance of Sharing Information   Fri Oct 23, 2009 2:28 pm

I would like my friends here and new members coming to take a moment and read what I'm about to post here.
And when you read take another moment to considerate.

Thank you in advance.

The Importance of Sharing Ideas & Information.

The idea of hiding or avoiding to share information is something that starts very early for many of us. I am reminded of when I was in elementary school and students put their arms around their papers during tests to prevent others around them from seeing their answers. This idea of “hiding answers” and hiding information is something that stays with many of us throughout our entire lives, and ends up having a major influence on our entire lives.

It is the same with our careers. Many people are very secretive about information and their ideas.

When you hoard information, you are constantly playing a “political game” where you are judging if one person or another can know something. In addition, people who hoard information constantly seem to have stale ideas because you only get their information when they deem it is relevant to tell you about them. There are a lot of people out there who are secretive with information. I cannot believe how much I saw this when I was practising economy. I still see it in my job today.

And sadly I'm seeing this here too.

I was perplexed to access my administration logs yesterday and see how many people comes here to READ the information others are WILLINGLY SHARING for all and yet, these very people that browses, reads every post don't bother to reply or add a line.

Why, I ask myself?

One of my biggest beliefs is that if you are continually sharing your ideas, then you constantly put yourself in a need to replenish your ideas. This forces you to be creative and come up with new ideas and information and develops a psychology within you where you are always looking to share what you know with people, instead of looking to hoard what you know.

When you share ideas and information others also tell you their ideas and information , and this gives you access to more ideas and more information.

And it is with this process that we can make a difference. That we can make it better to us and to others.

There are real benefits to sharing what you know. Ideas, opinions, information are open knowledge that anyone should have access to. There are never any benefits in not sharing most knowledge with the people around you.

I will finish this by giving my thanks to those who are taking their time to post here, open topics, to reply to the ones existing in other words, who are SHARING KNOWLEDGE and making me, you, and all of us less Ignorant and able to learn something new.

And I'd like to ask those who comes here just taking what others do without giving anything back, to stop a moment and think about what I wrote.

I could simply take the read access from all who are not posting but that will go against my very letter here. So I count with the good sense of you all.

We are in dire times. Information and brainstorming of concepts and ideas is all we have.

DO YOUR SHARE.

thanks

I agree with this post. As a matter of fact I will not be so nice as Marcus and let the situation remain. I'll apply a new filter here which will automatically ban members which haven't posted for the minimum overall days and number of posts, starting from today.

I'm also making a full cleansing on non active members. I'll open a thread and leave it there for one week. Reply to that thread if you want to keep your account active here.

I prefer to think that someone out here reading my posts, benefiting of my information is giving a little bit of respect and consideration by doing the same.

No takers only here.

If someone have a problem with that, no need to pm me. Just leave the forum.

Thanks for your time.

That's nice to read. I'm so tired of forums without shared profit and a bunch people hanging there for nothing. This forum is different and I'm glad for that.

Good post!

If your saying people come read and don't participate and that's Wrong then I'm unquestionably
behind you 1001% my friend, though I would like to point out people should not give out personal
details that can be misused to create Identity Theft that plus if you have some thing that sensitive
and extremely personal then don't post it. pirat

Speaking of sharing info....I've been on here for hours reading everyone post and there will be 1 or 2 "guests" hanging out. What's the deal with that? Can that happen when someone times out or is it just people waiting for specific people to come online?

Guests can do nothing else but to read the welcome category. Even so, each guest leaves IP registered at our systems.
